A readable version of how Tresslog thinks about information, app data, and support requests.

Overview

Tresslog values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it may be shared, and the choices you have regarding your data when using Tresslog’s website, mobile applications, and related services.

Information We Collect

We may collect information you provide directly when creating an account, subscribing to premium, contacting support, or using Tresslog features. This may include your name, email address, hair profile details, hair goals, routines, product preferences, logs, notes, progress photos, community posts, and support messages.

Hair Journal and Uploaded Content

Tresslog allows you to upload personal hair-related content such as logs, progress photos, routines, notes, and product usage history. This content is stored to provide journaling, progress tracking, analytics, recommendations, and personalized insights. Private content remains private unless you intentionally choose to share it publicly within the community.

Community Content

If you share logs, routines, reviews, progress photos, or other content in the Tresslog Community, that content becomes visible to other users based on your sharing settings. Public content may be viewed, interacted with, saved, or referenced by other community members. Please be mindful of what you choose to share publicly.

Usage and Diagnostic Data

Like many digital services, we may automatically collect technical and diagnostic information such as device type, operating system, app version, crash reports, session events, feature usage, and general performance metrics. This helps us improve reliability, performance, security, and overall product quality.

Subscription and Payment Data

Premium subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store and Google Play. Tresslog does not directly store your full payment card details. We may receive limited subscription-related metadata such as subscription status, renewal dates, purchase identifiers, and transaction status to manage premium access.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to operate and improve Tresslog, personalize your experience, provide progress insights, deliver recommendations, maintain your account, support subscriptions, respond to support requests, monitor performance, improve safety, and develop new features. We may also use aggregated, non-identifiable data for analytics and product research.

Service Providers

Tresslog may use trusted third-party service providers for hosting, authentication, cloud storage, analytics, crash reporting, subscriptions, email delivery, and customer support. These providers only receive the data necessary to perform services on our behalf and are expected to handle it securely.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or third parties. We may share information only when necessary to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, enforce policies, protect users, investigate abuse, or complete business operations such as infrastructure support and payment processing.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide Tresslog services, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If you delete your account, we will make reasonable efforts to remove or anonymize personal data, subject to backup and legal retention requirements.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, or loss. However, no internet-based system or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

Your Rights and Choices

You may update certain account information directly through Tresslog. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or request export of your personal data. You may also choose what content remains private or becomes public in the community.

Children’s Privacy

Tresslog is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to create an account without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate authorization.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our services, legal obligations, or data practices. When material changes are made, we will update this page and revise the effective date where applicable.
